Dave is the Engagement Manager for UrbanTrans' office in Perth. In this role, he is currently managing household engagement for a behaviour change research project being conducted with the WA Department of Transport. He previously served in this same role for Urbantrans' two most recent voluntary behaviour change projects – the 72,000 household Queensland TravelSmart Communities project on the Sunshine Coast and the 4,000 household WA ActiveSmart project in Geraldton. Dave possesses exceptional skills in managing engagement teams, with a special focus on high-quality and efficient project delivery linked to a strong team approach.

Behaviour Change, Operations Manager

Craig is the Operations Manager for UrbanTrans office in Perth. In this role, he is currently managing all operations and logistics tasks for a behaviour change research project being conducted with the WA Department of Transport. He previously served in this same role for Urbantrans' two most recent voluntary behaviour change projects – the 72,000 household Queensland TravelSmart Communities project on the Sunshine Coast and the 4,000 household WA ActiveSmart project in Geraldton. Craig has 10 years’ experience in the warehousing industry – previously working for both public and private entities. During this time he gained extensive managerial experience working for a South Australian National Football League team. Craig holds a Bachelor of Management (Marketing) from the University of South Australia.

Based in Auckland, Bill has been working on environment and sustainability programmes in the UK, Southern Africa, Australia and New Zealand since 1997. He has experience in developing and implementing behaviour change and social marketing strategies for government agencies and the commercial sector in the areas of energy use, waste management, travel and accessibility planning, and crisis management. He has designed and managed large scale travel demand management projects including at Auckland's universities and hospitals. He has also developed and evaluated town centre accessibility plans and personalised journey plans across the region and evaluated the Auckland TravelWise programme for workplaces and institutions. Bill has a BA in Economics and Development Studies and an MA in Environment, Development and Policy (University of Sussex).

Traffic Engineering Leader

Stephen has over 25 years' experience in transport planning and traffic engineering. He has held senior executive positions in government and consultant firms. He has been responsible for the delivery of major projects in the transport sector and provision of strategic and business advice to governments, infrastructure providers and operators on patronage, revenue potential, risk assessment and management strategies. He has also been involved in a number of Port, Airport and Freight studies both in Australia and internationally. Stephen has delivered numerous master planning studies and worked extensively across the Gulf, Asia and Australia advising developers and government agencies on transport and infrastructure issues with specific emphasis on sustainable transport systems. He has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

José is an environmental engineer with 15 years of international experience in consulting and government. He has a proven track record of project delivery in Australia, America, Asia and the Middle East. He has expertise in a broad range of environmental and transport policies and technical areas. He has analysed the life-cycle impacts of transport systems across all travel modes. José has implemented economic, policy, technology and infrastructure solutions to promote sustainable travel behaviour and enhance the long-term sustainability of the transport sector. His core areas of expertise include interactions between transport and environmental systems, emissions and energy efficiency, climate change, advanced vehicle and fuel technologies, environmental impact assessment, ecosystem dynamics, and marine resources. José is highly proficient in a variety of quantitative methodologies, including modelling of ecological systems, statistical/probabilistic analyses, optimisation, and cost-benefit analysis. He has a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Katherine has strong experience in small business management and general business administration through working over 10 years in both retail management and general administration for a financial services firm. This experience has solidified her particular strengths in financial and event management, marketing and human resource management to which she brings to her current role.

Passionate about wildlife conservation, social justice and environmental sustainability as a whole, Katherine uses these as her main drive behind her work for the UrbanTrans team, particularly in her project support.

Katherine holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Environment) degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Civil Engineer—Cycling and Pedestrian Systems

Claire is a civil engineer with a primary focus on strategic planning and infrastructure development for cycling and pedestrian systems. Originally from Melbourne, Claire returned to Australia in 2009 after ten years abroad, where she ran the cycling program for the City of Edmonton, Canada. Her work there included design of shared-use trails and on-road cycling routes, policy development, and promotion of active modes of transport. Claire has a Bachelor of Engineering—Environmental / Civil, from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Ronald is a professional web designer and interactive media specialist. He is experienced in designing top-quality web sites, providing graphic design for print, and branding and identity services for organisations and initiatives. Ronald believes that good design should incorporate creative intelligence that evokes an emotional response from those engaging with the design.  He has a Bachelor of Design degree in Multimedia Design from Swinburne University, Australia.

Alice has over 14 years’ experience in policy development and program delivery in the transport and environmental fields. She joined UrbanTrans in 2008, following six years of work with the Victorian Department of Transport; prior to that she worked in environmental policy and project management roles in the Australian government. She is a leading professional providing strategic planning and policy advice in active transport and travel demand management, with a focus on analysing factors that optimise sustainable transport use. She has a strong history in leading travel behaviour change programs, from activity centre plans engaging small and large businesses to broad-scale community initiatives. Alice has a Master of Environmental Engineering degree from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Australian National University.

Ross is a Traffic Engineer with approximately six years consulting experience in Melbourne and California.  He has also gained valuable local government engineering experience and familiarity with all transportation aspects of Melbourne's inner city through his on-going part time secondment to the City of Melbourne Engineering Services Group. He specialises in developing and encouraging sustainable transport initiatives and solutions and his experience includes undertaking traffic impact assessments in support of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, intersection modelling, travel demand forecasting considering all modes of transport, car park design, traffic and parking management strategies which focused on developing sustainable management of all modes of transport,  design of traffic calming and speed reduction schemes, and a range of sustainable transport solutions focusing on innovative pedestrian and bicycle strategies.

Kevin is a transport planner specialising in integrated transport and land use planning and sustainability-oriented behaviour change programs. He has designed transport and environmental solutions for a diverse array of government and business clients in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He is a leading facilitator of public-private partnerships providing on-going implementation platforms for sustainability and place management initiatives. Kevin currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Transport Demand Management Institute, is on the Australian Advisory Board of the International Cities, Town Centres & Communities Society, and is an international ex-officio member of the Board of Directors for the International Downtown Association. He has a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from the University of Colorado.

David is among Australia’s leading travel demand management professionals, with over ten years' experience specialising in workplace travel planning in both Australia and the UK. He joined UrbanTrans in 2008, following seven years with the TravelSmart program at the Department of Transport in Victoria. David has worked with governments in Australia and New Zealand to build their capacity to deliver TDM projects, developed strategy papers for state governments in New South Wales and Victoria, and conducted original research to improve development and delivery of travel demand management in Australasia. He played a leading role in the development of Access Melbourne, Australia’s first Transport Management Association, as well contributing to the development of local government walking and cycling strategies. David has a Master of Environmental Studies degree from the University of Adelaide.
