Bayside City Council has released the draft Bayside Integrated Transport Strategy for public comment up until 8 March 2013. Click here to find out more.
The City of Bayside is planning for our future transport needs.
In order to deal with environmental and social challenges, such as traffic congestion, climate change and increasing development pressures, we need to make sure we have the right transport system in place for the future.
That system also has to help create an inclusive, healthy community underpinned by a strong local economy, and that is reliable, accessible and safe.
Bayside City Council is consulting with the community on the Draft Bayside Integrated Transport Strategy (ITS). The role of the draft ITS is to provide the transport policy and implementation framework to help guide the development of the Bayside transport system over the next 10 years – with an emphasis on sustainable transport opportunities.
We want to hear your feedback on the draft ITS and are seeking your comments up to 8 March 2013.
The draft ITS outlines the vision and guiding principles which will form the basis of all decisions about transport in the future. Each guiding principle is supported by relevant policies and actions which will deliver the following community benefits for Bayside:
- Easier local living;
- Increased prosperity for business and individuals;
- Improved health and wellbeing;
- More efficient transport;
- Safer travel on and off roads for everybody; and
- Lower energy-related transport emissions.
Go to the ‘Have Your Say’ page to find out how you can provide your feedback.
We look forward to hearing from you!
