Macquarie Park TMA Formation Study
Client: NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change & Water
Location: Sydney, New South Wales
By 2030, Macquarie Park is slated to be the fourth largest employment cluster in all of Australia. Efficient and sustainable transport will be a central variable in achieving that outcome. This project is bringing together major corporations, a major shopping centre, a university, state and local government, and area bus operators to forge a partnership model to ensure transport systems support the sustainable growth of the area and its businesses over time.

North Harbour TED Strategic Planning
Client: Auckland Transport (previously North Shore City Council)
Location: North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand
Growing employment districts where the average business has fewer than 10 employees are not well supported by traditional approaches to workplace travel planning. Working with Auckland Transport and the North Harbour Business Association, this project led to the formation of the Transport Committee within the North Harbour Business Improvement District (among the first TMAs in New Zealand). UrbanTrans supported the formation process, and now provides on-going strategic planning support, transport program development and implementation, and an evaluation strategy to assess program effectiveness.

Melbourne Regional TMA Feasibility Study
Client: Victorian Department of Transport
Location: Melbourne, Victoria
In 2006, Transport Management Associations were an international model of multi-sector partnerships bringing together business, government, and non-profit stakeholders to improve transport within activity centres. How might this model work in Australia? This project was the first assessment of the TMA model in Australia, assessing over 15 activity centres across Melbourne as potential TMA locations. This project laid the foundation for Australia's first TMA, Access Melbourne, founded in 2009.

TMA Guidelines
Client: Auckland Regional Transport Authority
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Based on the success of international models for Transport Management Associations, many areas within New Zealand were exploring TMA formation. In 2007, UrbanTrans produced this self-assessment tool for the New Zealand context to allow stakeholders to fully understand the TMA concept and assess if the model could provide value in their area.
